Flight For Florida (Sunday)

The flight from Winnipeg to Minneapolis was good. We were on a small, two jet engine plane that seated roughly 130 passengers if I recall correctly. The engine was super loud and we were seated right at the back, right beside the jet engines. I was super excited (you all can imagine easily) about taking off, even though this was not my first flight. First flight for Jesse and of course his excitement was hard to read, but no doubt he enjoyed it.

In Minneapolis, our stopover, we had plenty of time to go to Mall of America. Recalling the last time I was there, I can express how great it was. Shawn, Levi, Jesse and I went there last summer (ultimate goal was Valley Fair) but we went to MOA on the evening we arrived. The mall entrance was just about to close, but we got in, to find every last retailer and service to be shut down for the night... so we had the run of the place! We did all the normal things; ran into the theme park (by jumping the security ropes) and explored, we ran up escalators the wrong way, we gawked at Lego Land and all the other wonderful things. We were quite hyper, or at least I was. No one challenged our presence or our activities and eventually we left for camp.

In any case, this time the mall was full and we explored a bit, the bro, dad and I (the sis and mom were off doing what women do in malls, whatever that is). We checked out The Vaase, gawking at all the wonderful (but cheaply made) fantasy swords and knives. We also ate some really awesome sushi as a family for my bro's Bday.

Which reminds me, his Bday gift from the 'rents is street motorcycle training! Are they insane?

The flight from Minneapolis to Florida was longer, in a bigger Jet, and of course again I was super excited to take off! My sis and mom think I'm insane. Oh and I played chess on my laptop once we were cruising at 3500 ft. And this kinda weird guy across the isle started giving me all these tips and stuff. I started the game off super bad (cause i've played chess less than a dozen times in my life) and lost my Knight in a couple of moves and I did not have my pieces set up as good as the computer did. But thankfully the guy didn't give me advice at first, he just asked if I was a rookie, which I admitted. Anyways, I did a lot better after that, really thinking my moves through and was slowly starting to become equally strong on the board as the computer. Eventually the board got quite complicated and in order to make a move I needed to think more than 5 or 6 moves ahead. It was fun and challenging! I think I did quite good, but I didn't finish the game. I probably would have lost, but not by much.

One last thing. At the end of the flight, when we touched down and we came to a stop, I was disappointed that the front wheel didn't snap off. I think that would have been sooo much fun, at the same time as being quite unlikely to injure anyone! And would have made for so much better of a blog!
